Premier Alan Winde hosts Digicon on opening up Western Cape’s energy sector, 27 May

Premier Alan Winde will host Matteo Brambilla, Chief Executive Officer at Red Rocket - a Western Cape-based independent power producer – at a digicon on Tuesday, 27 May 2025.

Companies such as Red Rocket have been instrumental in pioneering renewable energy solutions to help the Western Cape and South Africa overcome the crippling energy crisis.

“By diversifying and opening the country’s energy market, the private sector has played an important role in adding more megawatts to the Western Cape and South African power grids. This crisis offered us opportunities, which many entrepreneurs and investors have seized upon, to the advantage of our residents and the economy,” said Premier Winde.
