Moscow, Kyiv exchange allegations of overnight strikes on infrastructure

(MENAFN) On Monday, both Russia and Ukraine accused one another of carrying out nighttime aerial assaults aimed at energy facilities.

Reports from Ukraine suggested that drones successfully struck the Novocherkasskaya power station in Russia’s Rostov region. At the same time, Ukrainian officials alleged that Russian forces targeted infrastructure in the Odesa area.

Russia’s Defense Ministry stated that six Ukrainian drones had been intercepted over Rostov, but did not confirm whether the power plant sustained damage. Russian outlets, however, acknowledged the site was affected, noting that debris from a downed drone sparked a fire at part of the facility.

Due to the ongoing war, independent confirmation of these competing claims remains challenging.
