Zelenskyy Demands Accelerated Action on Energy, Drone Attacks
"The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine must also act much more swiftly to expand – as previously determined – the capacity to protect the Kharkiv region and other regions bordering Russia from 'shaheds' and other attack drones," Zelenskyy said on Telegram, emphasizing that Ukraine cannot wait for individual units to adjust.
He expressed frustration with the slow reaction of some local authorities, noting that responses to prolonged outages in cities such as Kryvyi Rih, as well as parts of Sumy, Kharkiv, and Poltava regions, have often been delayed. While repair crews and emergency teams are reportedly performing effectively, Zelenskyy stressed that "conclusions must be drawn" from instances where infrastructure issues were not resolved promptly.
Zelenskyy also noted that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has received additional generator equipment from international partners to bolster rapid response reserves. In the Odesa region, he added, further measures are being taken to support households dependent on electric heating, with local officials tasked with providing clear assistance plans for affected buildings.
Repeated strikes on Ukraine’s power infrastructure have caused extensive damage to the national grid, resulting in both scheduled and emergency power cuts across multiple regions.
